Notch filters block, or attenuate a narrow wavelength range, while transmit all the remaining wavelength spectrum. Hence, those filters are also called band-rejection filters or band-stop filters, which block in-band spectrum and transmit out-of-band wavelengths. By performance a band-rejection filter is the opposite to bandpass filter – it cuts defined range of wavelengths.
A typicall application field of notch filters is spectroscopy.
Solaris Optics manufactures custom band-stop filters in its premises in Poland. Requirements such as center blocking wavelenght, filter dimensions and shapes are custom-designed for specific client requests.
