30th anniversary statement from Michal Muniak, CEO:
Dear Partner,
It is a special day in the life and history of our company. On March 12, 1991, exactly 30 years ago, Solaris Optics S.A. was established!
In those turbulent times marked by the fall of communism, two PhD engineers, Waclaw Muniak (my father) and Ryszard Wodnicki, launched Solaris Optics S.A., a precision optics company.
The development of Solaris is a shared story between the growth of a small contract manufacturer company and its clients. Initially, the firm served clients from the domestic market, but as soon as 1994, it started expanding onto the international market with its first client: Philips. Today, although we still serve our Polish customers, about 90% of our production is exported.
Such an increase in export was possible thanks to the constant growth of our manufacturing & quality control capabilities. While we started as a glass workshop, nowadays we coat advanced thin films, design optical components, manufacture electro-optic modulators and space objectives and we are a proud owner of an MRF machine, one of its kind in the CEE area.
We owe the market expansion also to our distribution partners, e.g. Dorotek (Strausberg, Germany).
Last not least, the growth of Solaris Optics S.A. would have never been possible without our dedicated employees, our colleagues – high-level enthusiasts, specialists and experts in their fields.
