SHORTPASS and longpass FILTER

Shortpass filter transmits light within wavelengths that are shorter than the cut-off wavelength of the filter and cuts longer wavelengths.

Longpass filter transmits wavelengths longer than the filters’ cut-off wavelength and cuts shorter wavelenths.

While used together the shortpass and longpass filters can be designed to transmit specific wavelengths.

Solaris Optics designs and manufactures shortpass and longpass filters for ultraviolet (UV), visible (VIS) and infrared (IR) spectrum. The slope of a filter depends on specific requirements and physical properties of materials. In specific cases it is also possible to design and build filters that mix performances of various filter types, e.g. thin-film coated and colored glass filters.

As a bespoke optics manufacturer we offer filters of custom shapes (e.g. square, rectangular, circular) and sizes (standard within 4 to 160 mm).
